Miss Sibley turns 11

I simply can not believe that this little lady is 11...
ELEVEN!
It seems like just yesterday
that she was a chunky monkey buddah baby,
making that infant swing of hers work hard for the money!
Only one more year of elementary school
then it's on to the big leagues...saints preserve us.
Sibley is fabulously opinionated and dramatic in every way
...with a kind, sweet soul.
We gave her a (GASP) "family" party this year.
Her cake was from a box, in a not so cute pyrex baking dish
 and yet...
she still thought it was all pretty great...

Love that girl...

The King of Pop...

Every channel I turned it to tonight
was talking about the anniversary of
Michael Jackson's death.
It's pretty sad...
I know a lot of people
don't have great things to say
 about Michael Jackson.
He was a very controversial
and odd fellow,
but there really is no denying
 his music.
Pretty sure
 most of you
 could sing along with
most of his records.
They're that memorable...

Smith was "The King of Pop" for Halloween a few years ago...
He looked Awesome!!!!

I read that
Michael Jackson
has made the biggest impact on music
 than any other artist
 in the history of music.
Now there is something to be said about that...

I Made it Monday...

I made this festive little
red, white and blue
banner
for Miss Liberties
upcoming independence celebration...

After making lots of these banners,
I figured out that
 bias tape
works wonders
 for keeping
all the little flags and pom poms
neat and tidy.
It's a good thing....

Couldn't love you s'more...

The kids had been begging to make smores
FOREVER!
 I think the preparations
were a bit more than they bargained for.
We had to scrounge high and low
for wire hangers to use as marshmallow roasting sticks
 (no woods around these parts)
Then...
had to exterminate a house of bees.
They had found a cozy place to reside beneath the grate of the pit.
It was a windy night so we had a bit more smoke than fire,
 but smores were made...
 and our mission accomplished!
Our hair smelled of campfire for days...
 even after a good scrubbing...

p.s. for those of you who have teenagers...

Does this above picture (of my teenager) look familiar to you?
Do you feel the cell phone
is an appendage that at times is in need of amputation???

A Golden DAY

My kiddies informed me
 that this was
the MOST important birthday
that Blythe would ever ever have.
When you turn the same age as the day you were born,
it's your
 "Golden Birthday."
 Never heard of it before...
apparently I am not up on my school yard etiquette.
So Blythe turned
 9 on the 9th...
pretty cool!
 I made her a crown
fit for a
  GOLDEN DAY!

Sisters Trip...

I just got back from a glorious trip
with my sista's.
We always have the BESTEST time
with each other.
We went to visit our parents in New York,
and to see their new, old house.
They just finished restoring
the Grainery
(which literally was just that, a grain house, in it's former life)

Saying that it is amazing
is an understatement...

Their house sits right next to
The Erie Canal.
Early one morning we were awakened
by some seriously loud shouting.
We looked out the windows and saw this...

The annual Pittsford Regatta
was going on.
How cool...

Knowing that we couldn't possibly
be so close and not go...
Our parents took us to
Nantucket...

 Yay,
there's Brant point...

This puppy was just hanging out in her owners shop
Sooo cute...

Our friends invited us out for seafood.
The Winebrenners don't eat seafood...

yes, we are pathetic...
I at least had salmon!

I bought this little pendant as we were heading to get on the ferry.
I wanted something to remind me of the island...
(gosh I'm freckly!)

Me looking like I'm looking into a spoon...
But I had to document my band-aid face.
Our trip was waaaay too short.
Until next year ladies...

Love ya'lls foreva...
