I Made it Monday...

I worked my fingers to the bone last week.
I have no idea how this happened.
I felt a little twinge in my finger
and looked down
to find this...

a broken blood vessel
from gripping my creations too tight???
...is that even possible???
The older I get the more bruises
seem to show up.
I swear,
I brush by something
and a few hours later
it looks as if I've had a run in
with a baseball bat.
Old age...the joys
This finger incident
did
occur after a sleepless night.
So there is no real telling how it happened
 as I was quite possibly
in a craft coma.
I dragged myself up the stairs at around
6:30 am
(just as my high school boy was waking up)
He took one look at me and said
"Mom, seriously...you're crazy!"
I concur...
I fitfully "rested"
for an hour or so
before I had to get back up
to get my little ones off to school.
Then it was back to crafting!

Finishing this
(the sign for my booth)
is what took me most of the night,
the frosting atop my crazy cake...

Here are some of the things
produced from that night of insanity...

this pic turned out not so swift...

I must say...
the injuries and such
were worth it.
The Beehive Bazaar was really good to me.
In all the madness
I forgot to take a
"before"
picture of my booth :(
My niece texted me this shot
near the end of the first day,
looking pretty spare...
(which is a good thing)

then
my son snapped this
on his phone
right before "tear down."
Again,
not such a great shot,
but it's documentation of some sort...

(capturing the emptiness is the happy part)
So adieu to the shows for awhile,
it was an exhausting fabulous ride...

p.s. a few more vintage Christmas things left in my etsy shop

I Made it Monday...

I've been burning the candle at both ends
AND
been burning each and every tip of my finger
right along with that candle.
I've been covered in
glitter and webs off hot glue strings
for weeks,
and my poor children
have been eating a lot of cereal for dinner.

But it's almost here,

and next week our lives can get back to normal.
Well...
as normal as they can be
with
2 children birthday's
1 husbands birthday
and
all our Christmas shopping still to do.
"Normal" is relative...

Since it's Monday,
Here are a few of the vintage-ie
things I've finished this week...

AND
hot off the press...
(the glue is literally still drying on these little planters)

Don't forget to come to
The Beehive Bazaar
Thursday-Saturday
and support some cool local crafters.
(me being one of those local crafters, the cool part...debatable)

He's Baaaaack.....

Our little elf
"Buddy"
has returned from the North Pole.

He was a little late because...

(Not because he is packed away in our pods
and we needed to go get his understudy
from Barnes and Noble.)

The kids were worried about his tardiness,
especially Smith.
He broke into tears a few days ago and tearfully confessed:
"I touch-ded Buddy at the last Christmas, so I think I took-ded
his magic powers away"
Sooo sad.
But Buddy has arrived
and Christmas has been saved...

Totally Judging A Book By It's Cover...

Books aren't people
so I'm doing it,
I am...
I'm judging a book by it's cover.

I can't help it.
And
I don't think you could either...

Serious eye candy.

But what makes these even better,
they're classics.
Which means
the inside is really good too!

I have this one

and this one

and this one

now
I just have to get these

and these

and these

oh boy...

Happy birthday, Anniversary, Valentines day, Mother's day, Easter, St. Patrick's day, 4th of July, Columbus day
and a very Merry Christmas (for the next 10 years)
 to me...
