Going Under the Knife...

My cataract surgery went off without a hitch...

I was quite nervous to think about

 someone cutting into my eye,

but they gave me some

"keep calm and carry on" 

medicine

so I was OK.

It was over before I knew it...

AND

I'm bringing sexy back....

Treasure Hunting...

I found this 

vintage blow mold pumpkin

today

at the thrift store.

It even had the cord

still with it

AND

it worked!!!!

What made my find even better was this...

Happy Halloween to me....

Missoni Madness...

My sister Spring called me last night and said

"OK...this awesome Italian line is coming to Target tomorrow

and you HAVE to be at your Target right when it opens."

(because she was going to be at hers and wanted to divide and conquer)

Well...

I didn't get to Target until 10:45

and 

this is what I walked out with...

One glass...

One headband...

The shelves and racks

were almost completely empty. 

Crazy shoppin' women,
 it was insane...

I heard that Target.com

SOLD OUT

and then the website 

CRASHED

within 20 minutes!

Missoni Madness...literally!

I did not accompany Spring to 5 other Target stores that day...

(as she was feverish with the madness)

Making turning 40 a little sweeter...

My sister Spring 

gave me one of the most 

fabulous birthday presents

 that I've ever ever received

in all my 40 (gasp) years...

 40 individually wrapped gifts...

my favorite treats

vintage bits and bobs

a myriad of sundries

ribbons and fabric

stationary and cupcake liners

and on and on and on...

it is

overwhelmingly 

awesome...

Remembering 911...

We will always remember...

I'm 40....

For my big 4-0...

My friends had an afternoon tea for me...

My awesome sister-in-law Kim got pedicures for me and my sisters...

My bestest took me out on the town...

I'm 40...

and I'm thinking 40's

 gonna be OK...

I'm officially old...

I had an eye appointment today.

I was WAAAY past due for new contacts.

I had been wearing my "2 week" contacts for about "2 months."

I know, I know....

I told the optometrist

that I wasn't seeing so clear lately. 

He took one look in my eyes

and said...

"well I'll tell you why you can't see, you have cataracts"

UHHHHHH, EXCUSE ME??????

Only really old people get cataracts right?

My 85 year old Grandma had cataract surgery right?

I'm in my thirties!!!

(for 2 more days)

Well...

you know when "they" say something like

1 in 5000 may experience this or that

Well...

I'm the 1

Lucky ducky!

And they're so bad that he told me 

 I shouldn't drive

because

I could be a danger to others on the road!

UHHHHHH, EXCUSE ME??????

So...

I'm getting surgery in a few weeks

I officially feel old

(and I'm still in my thirties...for 2 more days)

Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat...

Last night we took the girls to see

 my crazy talented niece Chloe

in Joseph.

It was up at The Hale Center Theatre

and it was an amazing show!!!

I saw it years ago in SLC

 when Donny Osmonds' son was Joseph 

and this cast was even better.

Chloe and all her little adoring cousins

Sib had a little crush on Pharaoh aka Elvis...
she really wanted to take a picture with him

Good times with the original Winebrenner clan...

Rapunzel Rapunzel let down your hair...

Blythe 

begged me 

to straighten her hair...

Holy Cow!

This is seriously
verging on the side of
sheer ridiculousness. 

The need for a trim has passed her by eons ago...
